Samsung to Release Tizen Smartphone in India - Samsung’s latest low-end smartphone operating under Tizen Operating System will reportedly be released soon in India.

South Korean daily the Maeil Bisnis reported the smartphone, which is coded Z130 H and likely be dubbed the Samsung Z1, would be launched on December 10, 2014.

The phone will purportedly be priced at US$100 in India—a considerably low price for a Samsung smartphone.

The Samsung Z1 features a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels, a 3.2MP rear camera and a VGA front camera.

The Z1 is also packed with a 1.2GHz dual-core Spreadtrum processor, 512MB RAM, dual-SIM card slot and 3G with Wi-Fi connectivity.

The South Korean tech giant initially intended to release a phone with Tizen operating system in Russia in the year’s third quarter, but had to delay the plans to improve Tizen’s ecosystem app.

Tizen has been applied to three Samsung smartwatches: the Gear S, the Gear 2 and the Gear Neo.
