Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi & Manuel Neuer on Ballon d'Or list - Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will face each other in FIFA's Ballon d'Or 2014 award, after the two names make it to the top three finalists – along with German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Neuer is the first goalkeeper to be included in the top three finalists of Ballon d'Or since 2006. His brilliant performance in the 2014 World Cup might just make him the second goalkeeper to win the award after Uni Soviet's legendary goalkeeper Lev Yashin in 1956.

On the other hand, Messi, as the only player to win four consecutive Ballon d'Or (from 2009 to 2012), has the chance to add his winning to five times, following a number of record breaking moments this year. In World Cup, Messi also stole the spotlight by winning the best player award in the tournament.

However, last year's Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo is not far behind with his achievements throughout the year. CR7 notably helped Real Madrid won the La Decima, as well as receiving the European golden boot award last season. This season, the stylish footballer has shown that he is ready to compete with Messi by scoring 20 goals in 13 La Liga matches.
